Observance of Tamil Day by Grade 4 – SHAAKUNTHALAM
The Tamil Day celebration by Grade 4 – SHAAKUNTHALAM learners was a vibrant tribute to the richness of Tamil language, culture, and heritage. The event served as a platform for young learners to connect with their roots and proudly showcase their cultural identity.
The celebration began with a soulful Tamil prayer song, setting a reverent tone for the occasion. Learners then presented a Tamil book review, offering insights into Tamil storytelling traditions and cultural narratives. To emphasize the uniqueness of the Tamil language, they shared a Hindi sentence along with its Tamil translation, promoting linguistic appreciation and diversity.
The day’s news was read in Tamil, reinforcing the practical use of the language in everyday contexts. A captivating traditional Tamil dance performance brought the cultural rhythms and grace to life on stage. The Culture Walk segment allowed students to explore and present various aspects of Tamil traditions, attire, food, and festivals.
TA special moment of reflection was dedicated to honoring Tamil literary icons – Avvaiyar, Thiruvalluvar, Arignar Anna, and Bharathiyar – whose contributions continue to inspire generations.
Through these engaging activities, the learners not only deepened their understanding of Tamil language and culture but also embraced the value of preserving heritage while respecting global linguistic diversity. The celebration instilled in them a sense of pride, identity, and belonging – staying rooted in Tamil while remaining open to the world.
World Blood Donor Day – Class Time Presentation by Grade 12 Learners
To commemorate World Blood Donor Day, the Grade 12 learners conducted an informative and inspiring Class Time session. The students took the initiative to spread awareness about the significance of blood donation and its life-saving impact on society.
They began the session by explaining the different blood groups (A, B, AB, and O) and the Rh factor, helping their peers understand the science behind compatibility in blood donation. A clear and interactive chart was used to show who can donate to whom, making the complex information easy to grasp.
The learners also highlighted the many benefits of donating blood — not only does it save lives in emergencies and medical treatments, but it also helps maintain the donor’s own health by stimulating the production of new blood cells. They debunked common myths associated with blood donation and encouraged fellow students to consider becoming future donors once they are eligible.
The presentation was engaging, informative, and well-researched. It reflected the learners’ empathy, responsibility, and commitment to building a healthier society. The session concluded with a strong message: “Donate blood, save lives – be a hero in someone’s story.”

“World Television Day”
Gade III- Mithila organized their class time on “World Television Day.” A debate was conducted on the topic “Is Television a boon or a bane?” The program sensitized students on how watching television has both positive and negative effects on the lives of children. Grade VIII-Chandrarupa students presented “World Television Day” as their class time
“World Water Day”
Students of grade IV-Ramayanam observed “World Water Day” by creating an awareness about the importance of conservation of water through a skit and a dance.
Milad-un-Nabi
Prophet Muhammed’s birthday – Milad-un-Nabi – was celebrated by the students of grade VIII. They presented the values and teachings of this great prophet through a variety of programs.
Children’s Day
Grade VIII-Abhimanyu organized Children’s Day as their class time. Teachers presented a cultural programme and organized traditional games for children.
“International Girl Child Day”
Grade IX observed the “International Day of the Girl Child” as part of their class time to spread awareness about eliminating gender discrimination against the girl child.
OCTOBER
“World Youth Skill Day”
Youth Skills Day observed by Grade IV- Shaakunthalam showcased the talents of children in various fields like, dancing, skating, singing, yoga, silambam and drums. The creative skills of the art and craft students were also exhibited.
Festival of Lights
Children of KG celebrated Diwali by lighting Diyas and decorating their classrooms. Teachers shared the story behind the celebration of Diwali. Students also painted diyas, prepared greeting cards and made diyas using origami sheets.

Celebrating the Pedagogues
Teachers day was celebrated to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on the 5th of September 2019. Few children spoke on the occasion and various activities were organized for the teachers.
World Humanitarian Day
Grade XI – Padmal observed “World Humanitarian Day” as their class time presentation focusing on different people of the society through a street play.
Navarathri Celebration
Grade IX highlighted the importance of “Navaratri” depicting its cultural significance during their class time presentation.

“National Farmers Day”
Children of Grade-V, as part of their class time staged a show on the occasion of the ‘National Farmers Day’ in commemoration of former Prime Minister of India, Shri. Chaudhary Charan Singh.
World Day of Health and Safety at Work
On the occasion of the World Day of Health and Safety at Work, students of grade X staged a programme on the need for safety in the work environment.
World Youth Skills Day
WYS Day, initiated by UNESCO aims to emphasize on the technical and vocational education and training by providing youth with equal opportunities. Various programs were staged on the occasion.
Independence Day Celebration
The 73rd Independence Day was celebrated with enthusiasm. Various activities were conducted to rouse the patriotic fervour. Students of grade XI portrayed the freedom fighters during the “Face Painting.” Event. “Marathon” events for Grade IX to XI were a test of endurance.

An tribute to Poseidon
Students of grade X, Thaalam, worked on ‘World Ocean Day’ as their class time topic to highlight the importance of sea-creatures in the aquatic ecosystem.
JUNE
Fresher’s Day
Fresher’s Day was organized by the students of Grade XII. Students conducted a quiz, staged a dance and edu-clown show respectively. Students of the other grades were also involved in welcoming the freshers. The day was a mix of learning and fun.
International Yoga Day
Grade X Pallavi invited the school to observe the International Yoga Day. She demonstrated a few asanas to boost the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual dimension of the individual. Ms. Dhivya, Yoga trainer and alumnus of Chettinad Rani Meyyammai school was invited to demonstrate a few asanas, explain their benefits and promote healthy living in the student community. Students of grades III to IX were a part of the yoga demo.
