Given the breakthroughs in technology and neuroscience, our educational paradigms have been shifting and changing over the last decade, and that shift has been accelerated and intensified by this current pandemic.

With all the changes, we have a unique opportunity to help children develop one of life’s most important skills: how to learn independently. If we can teach our children how to learn, and if we can inspire them with a love of learning, they will be able to do anything they want.

The video on Independent Learning by Ms. Maya Thiagarajan at Chettinad Sarvalokaa Education International School encourages students to adapt to the changes in education. Ms. Maya is a global educator who has spent seventeen years teaching in the US and Singapore. She holds a Masters in Education from Harvard University and a BA in English from Middlebury College. Ms. Maya is also the author of “Beyond the Tiger Mom: East-West Parenting for the Global Age,” a research-based book that explores how to blend best practices in parenting and education from East and West.
