Children’s Science Congress 2024
The TamilNadu Science Forum organized the Children’s Science Congress 2024 at the district, regional, and state levels across various parts of Tamil Nadu, with the state-level event held at Pudukkottai on February 15-16, 2024, in association with the Indian Mathematical Institute, the All India People’s Science Congress, and CESTADS.
Our learners, A. Aswitha and J. Manojnarasimman of Grade 8, under the guidance of Ms. Kokila Acharya and with the support of other acharyas, presented their research paper with a live model titled “Sky to Sip: Sustainable Rooftop Water Harvesting for a Thirst-Free Future in Puliyur Town Panchayat, Karur.” They successfully cleared the district level at Karur, regional level at Coimbatore, and state level at Pudukottai.
Notably, they were selected from among 12,568 research papers submitted from various parts of Tamil Nadu to present their research project at the National-level Children’s Science Congress.
As a token of appreciation, they were awarded the title of “Child Scientist” by Mr. I. Ingersol Selladurai, Scientist-H and Former Group Director, Indian Space Research Organisation, Bengaluru (Retired), and Mathematical Scientist Mr. R. Ramanujam, Indian Mathematical Institute (Retd.), at the state congress. They were also greeted by the members of the Tamil Nadu Science Forum.
