Children’s Science Congress 2024
The TamilNadu Science Forum organized the Children’s Science Congress 2024 at the district, regional, and state levels across various parts of Tamil Nadu, with the state-level event held at Pudukkottai on February 15-16, 2024, in association with the Indian Mathematical Institute, the All India People’s Science Congress, and CESTADS.
Our learners, A. Aswitha and J. Manojnarasimman of Grade 8, under the guidance of Ms. Kokila Acharya and with the support of other acharyas, presented their research paper with a live model titled “Sky to Sip: Sustainable Rooftop Water Harvesting for a Thirst-Free Future in Puliyur Town Panchayat, Karur.” They successfully cleared the district level at Karur, regional level at Coimbatore, and state level at Pudukottai.
Notably, they were selected from among 12,568 research papers submitted from various parts of Tamil Nadu to present their research project at the National-level Children’s Science Congress.
As a token of appreciation, they were awarded the title of “Child Scientist” by Mr. I. Ingersol Selladurai, Scientist-H and Former Group Director, Indian Space Research Organisation, Bengaluru (Retired), and Mathematical Scientist Mr. R. Ramanujam, Indian Mathematical Institute (Retd.), at the state congress. They were also greeted by the members of the Tamil Nadu Science Forum.

Skating
We are thrilled to announce that our learners, A.V. Mithra (Grade I) and A.V. Kayal ( Grade III ), representing Chettinad Vidya Mandir’s Under-10 team, have successfully completed the Nobak World Record for the 5-hour non-stop relay skating at the event held in Tirupur.
This prestigious event was organised by The Joyee Skating Academy on December 29, 2024.
Congratulations to A. V. Mithra and A.V. Kayal for their outstanding achievement and to everyone who supported them in their journey.
Tamil Nadu Science Forum Project Competition
We are delighted to share an incredible achievement by Selvi Ashwitha and Master Manoj Narasimman, who have successfully participated in the Tamil Nadu Science Forum Project Competition and have been selected for the Regional Level.
Their project, “Sky to Sip: Sustainable Rooftop Water Harvesting for a Thirst-Free Future,” has been highly appreciated by the judges for its innovative approach and impactful vision. This milestone reflects their hard work, creativity, and dedication.

World – level drawing competition
With great pleasure, we announce that U. Vibulan Aditya, a fifth-grader, has won a world-level drawing competition. He won in the final round after completing three stages of the competition, which was announced in October. There were about 490 participants, ranging in age from 5 to 60. Fifteen members were chosen. His drawing is on display in the Palani Murugan Temple, and we are really proud of him.

Zonal Swimming Competition
Our Young Champs Make Us Proud!
Vriksha Global School, Tiruchengode, hosted the Zonal Swimming Competition, bringing together participants from 15 schools and various clubs. Chettinad Vidya Mandir entered 18 learners from Grades 4 to 12, who delivered outstanding performances amidst tough competition.
Our swimmers secured an impressive tally of 2 gold medals, 5 silver medals, and 21 bronze medals, showcasing their dedication and skill. This event was a valuable learning experience that fostered personal growth, teamwork, and the spirit of sportsmanship among our learners.

6th Tamilnadu State Aeroskatoball Championship 2024
We are excited to announce that Arunmaruthan of Grade 7 has made us proud by winning a Bronze medal in the 6th Tamilnadu State Aeroskatoball Championship 2024! The championship, held in Dharmapuri, Tamil Nadu, saw Arunmaruthan competing in the Under-17 category. Rithvik Pranav.R, a learner in Grade-I, has been diligently training in the traditional Indian martial art of Silambam, specifically in Nedum Kambu Veecchu and Kambu Sandai, for the past year.

He has participated in Karur District, Tamilnadu State & National level Skating competitions in U14 category.
He has won 2 Gold medals & 2 Silver medals in Karur District level speed skating. He has also won Gold medal in State level Bandy competition.

Kovai Sahodaya Interschool Swimming Competition
Chettinad Vidya Mandir students shined at the Kovai Sahodaya Interschool Swimming Competition, hosted by PA International School in Pollachi, which saw participation from 11 schools across different regions.
The 26 participants from our school, ranging from grades 4 to 12, made us proud by winning 6 gold medals, 8 silver medals, and 14 bronze medals.
This event was a valuable learning opportunity, fostering teamwork and sportsmanship among our students.
Tennis
Sathiya Sahithyan of grade 7 has been training for the past 4 years and he completed in the state juniors category and won a silver medal in tennis.
Rifle shooting
Rana, a grade V Learner, has been dedicatedly training as a 10-meter Rifle Shooter for the past two years. His hard work and passion have led him to participate in the sub-youth and junior categories at the state level, where he has also represented his team in the team event. We are proud of his achievements and wish him continued success in his shooting career.

Skating
Arunmaruthan, a Grade 7 student, has been passionately practicing skating for the past year, excelling in Fancy Inline Speed Skating. In addition to speed skating, he also enjoys Bandy (Ice Skating) and Roll Ball Skating. Arunmaruthan has showcased his skills at various competitions, including Karur District level (U14 category) – Tamilnadu State level (U14 category), and National level (U14 category).
His achievements include 2 Gold medals in Karur District level speed skating competitions and 1 Gold medal in State level Bandy competition. Arunmaruthan’s dedication and determination have earned him recognition in the skating community, and we wish him continued success in his future endeavors.
Rifle shooting
Nithin of grade XI has been training as a 10M and 50M Rifle Shooter for the past three years. He completed in sub youth, youth, and the juniors category and won a gold medal in the juniors men’s team event and a silver medal in the juniors men’s individual category in 50M Prone. These achievements have qualified him to represent the Tamil Nadu State in the National category this year.

Achievements 2023-2024
Kovai Sahodaya School Complex conducted an Inter school creative writing competition for students at various levels which was hosted by Geedee Public School, Coimbatore. Students took up prelims at the school level and six students from different levels were selected and they attended the final level of competition. The topics which were given to category A is if animals were able to talk what would they talk, for category B, Let me tell you the things that I am proud of myself and for category C, what would you feel when you look at the mirror. In Category B, V. Mithra of grade 7 has got the second place and T. Padmasani of grade 12 has secured second place. It is really wonderful for us to witness this achievement.
