Fire Safety: Mock Drill
The school recently conducted a mock drill to prepare students and staff for emergencies, with a focus on fire safety. This drill highlighted the importance of regular practice, ensuring that everyone understands their roles and responsibilities during an emergency.
The mock drill tested the Disaster Management Plan's effectiveness, emphasising the need for clarity and familiarity with safety procedures. During the drill, the fire alarm was activated, and evacuation times were carefully recorded to assess efficiency.
An experienced consultant, along with the Emergency Response Team (ERT), guided the drill, aiming to teach disaster preparedness and response skills. While all students participated in the evacuation, teachers received detailed demonstrations. Ancillary staff were strategically positioned along exit routes to guide students to ensure a safe and orderly movement to the assembly area.
