In honour of National Librarians’ Day, our school paid tribute to Padma Shri Dr. Sirkazhi Ramamirtham Ranganathan, the Father of Library Science in India. This day celebrates his invaluable contributions to the field, such as the Five Laws of Library Science and the Colon Classification system.

Our school came together in the library to celebrate this special day. Mrs. Lilly Vimala, our Middle School Coordinator, set the tone with a warm welcome, followed by an insightful lecture from Mr. S. Kalimuthu Kumaran, our High School librarian, who shared Dr. Ranganathan’s inspiring life story and professional achievements.

The highlight of the event was when our learners shared their heartfelt feedback about the library and the librarians. Their appreciation for the friendly and approachable nature of our librarians truly highlighted the vital role they play in guiding our learners.

We wrapped up the celebration with a vote of thanks by Mrs. K. Revathi, our Primary School Librarian.

This event was a powerful reminder of the lasting impact of Dr. Ranganathan’s work and the crucial role librarians play in shaping young minds.
